Humans are problem solvers. From trying to find a way to present a new idea at work to how to approach new social situations, we’re constantly finding new ways to make our lives just a little better.
Yet, often we just get stuck. A good trick is a slight modification of the age-old “let’s sleep on it.”
The key is to struggle with the problem and the emotion of feeling stuck just before going to bed and then officially give up and fall asleep. Then, getup just a little earlier than usual and wrestle with the problem again the very first thing you do when you wake up.
Nine times out of ten, you solve the problem with a minimum of effort thanks to the strange, but wonderful workings of your nocturnal subconscious.
